Preparing an application

Read the whole listing before applying. Note the location, working arrangement and the skills the employer actually asks for, then match your most relevant experience to those points rather than sending a generic introduction.

Keep your details private

Your email, phone and messaging accounts are not public. When you apply, you decide whether that specific employer may see them. You can review your privacy settings on the account page at any time.

A stronger resume

  • Lead with your current role and the two or three achievements most relevant to the vacancy.
  • Use clear section headings and plain formatting so the file opens reliably on any device.
  • Keep one private, up-to-date resume on this site rather than emailing copies to many addresses.
  • Never include identity numbers, financial details or references you have not asked permission to share.

Saved jobs

Press Save on any listing to add it to your private shortlist. The list is visible only to you; open it from the floating bar or your account page. It is a good place to compare roles before you decide where to apply.

Interviews

Confirm the time zone, the interview format and the name of the person you will meet. If a recruiter asks for payment, bank details or documents unrelated to the role, stop the conversation and report the listing to the administrator.
